Update 28th May – Covid-19

Veterinary services are classified as an essential service. Hamilton Vetcare continues to provide consultation and surgical services, albeit with some changes. In accordance with latest regulatory requirements, all staff are wearing masks and we request clients do the same. We continue to request that the minimum number of people accompany your pet for consultations. In addition to our strict social distancing measures in place we have made the following changes to minimise the number of people in our clinic at anyone time.

  1. For all sales of food, flea & worm, repeat prescription medications please phone the clinic well ahead of your arrival. On arrival at the clinic (please park on French street or in our carpark) stay in your car and call reception. A member of staff will deliver your products to your car with EFTPOS payments only please. No cash.
  2. All surgical patients will receive a phone call from a nurse to discuss and authorise the admission process. On the day of surgery, please call reception on your arrival and a nurse will collect your pet from your car/ front door /yellow cross in reception (dependant on risk profile)A discharge time will be arranged and your pet will be delivered to your car/ front door /yellow cross in reception with EFTPOS payments only please.
  3. For Consultations appointments you will be directed to one of our 3 consultation rooms. A member of staff will collect your animal and the animal will be examined by a vet in our private treatment area. If you would prefer your pet to be examined in your car in our carpark please inform reception on arrival.

Please do not come into the clinic if you are unwell, please use the hand sanitiser station on entering, and please stand behind the line at reception.

Please always have your animal restrained on a lead or in a cage, and practise good self hygiene. Where possible have only one person coming to the clinic with your pet.

If you are unwell and your pet needs to be seen for a condition that you think cannot wait, please call and we will provide advice over the phone, organise a video consultation, or arrange alternate transport for your pet.

In light of the changing situation, we appreciate your understanding of these measures. We will continue to provide a service for your pets and appreciate your help to enable this. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with our Video consultation procedure by going to our website https://hamiltonvetcare.com.au/ and going to the ‘Video Consultation’ button for information on how Video consultations work and frequently asked questions.
